Dalcroze Eurhythmics

Let your child’s imagination soar as we explore music through purposeful movement, singing, improvisation, listening activities and other interactive games. The Dalcroze approach is founded on the ideas of  Èmile Jaques-Dalcroze, and is internationally recognized as a proven joyful, process-oriented way to teach students of all ages what music is all about. Eurhythmics is a fancy way to say “good rhythm” and involves using your whole body, listening to the music you hear, and matching your movement by walking, skipping, jumping, galloping and more. They will have so much fun, they won’t even realize the incredible music and movement vocabulary they are learning! This class is taught by licensed Dalcroze educator, Lauren Hodgson.

Dalcroze Eurhythmics is for children ages 4 and older. This curriculum is designed in collaboration with the Dalcroze School of the Rockies and allows students to joyfully experience music from the inside out.

This course is offered as an online class. The instructor has a special interest in finding innovative avenues for high quality, experience-based, interactive music education in any learning environment, including an online platform.

This class is a 2-part sequence, with the subsequent class offered in Spring 2021.

Please note: The age listed for each class is the student’s age as of September 1.

Parent participation is welcome, but not required.
