Jazz

Jazz is an energetic, exciting and exhilarating form of dance designed to help students develop strong technique as well as a unique individual style of performance. Jazz incorporates strength, balance, flexibility, dynamic jumps, turns, high energy music and stylization exercises. Jazz dancers will focus on developing isolations, progressions, improvisation work, and personal performance within combinations.

In addition to dance technique, jazz dance teaches self-expression, confidence, teamwork, musicality, and increased endurance.

Our caring, engaging, expert faculty is so excited to develop your dancers’ jazz technique and increase their love of dance!

The winter/spring 2021 semester BW CAS Dance is offering a project learning-based model of instruction. Our dance classes will all be working toward an end of semester dance showcase project. For more information on our classes, please visit our dance homepage.
