Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, BW CAS will distribute (at no cost) pre-camp COVID-19 tests through BW’s COVID testing provider, Vault. The test will come with guided instructions. A negative test result is required to be on record at BW before the first day of camp.
Masks are required to be worn indoors at all times by campers, camp staff and faculty. Masks will not be required for outdoor activities.
Any comfortable and well-fitting mask* that appropriately covers the camper’s mouth and nose is permitted. Campers with instruments that require instrument-specific masks will be given one at the start of camp and are required to wear it while playing. In addition, campers that play woodwind and brass instruments will receive a bell cover for their instrument.
*Gators and face shields are not permitted as a mask alternative.
Families will receive specific instructions closer to the start of camp for drop-off and pick-up procedures.
Drop-off: 8:15 - 8:45 a.m.
Pick-up: 9:00 p.m.
The early-bird special registration deadline is Friday, April 15th.
The final registration deadline is Friday, May 13.
There is no audition to participate in camp, only a hearing placement to determine your ensemble. Please note that there are different procedures listed below.
Music Theater Camp: Students should prepare a song that demonstrates their current skill level and abilities. A dance and voice placement will occur on the first day of camp.
String and Band Camp: Campers are required to submit a one-minute recording of a piece, excerpt, etude, or exercise that they have studied and/or performed when they complete their camp registration. This selection should authentically showcase the student’s ability on their instrument. Refer to our Placement Recording page for more information.
All meals will be at the Strosacker Student Union. Vegetarian and/or gluten-free options are available for each meal. No nuts of any kind are available at any meal. Please note specific allergies on your medical forms. We will do our absolute best to accommodate within reason, but if there are significant dietary restrictions, students are encouraged to bring their own approved meals and snacks.A special freezer and refrigerator is available to store approved meals and also available for student use.
