The Conservatory Summer Institute is a rigorous summer program for serious musicians looking to advance their musical growth. Students must audition and be accepted into the program and should expect rehearsals, sectionals, classes, private lessons, and extra responsibilities such as practicing independently.
Not for you? Don't worry! If you are entering 9th or 10th grade, check out our Camps for Grades 5-10 for an opportunity to grow as a musician that meets you where you are. Please feel free to reach out with questions at 440-826-2482 or sap@bw.edu.
We will continue to stay up-to-date with CDC and county guidelines. We are not anticipating requiring vaccinations or testing, but are ready to pivot should it be necessary. Official guidelines will be announced and updated as camp approaches.
If your student should become sick in the days leading up to camp, a refund may be provided on a case-by-case basis. If you have further questions, please contact us at sap@bw.edu or 440-826-2482.
A full packing list will be sent to you before the start of camp. We suggest you pack comfortable clothes, closed toe shoes and bring layers, as you will be both outside and in an air-conditioned building.
You may want some spending cash for the week as you will have access to purchasing items from the evening 'Snack Shack' or the campus bookstore.
All meals will be at the Strosacker Student Union. Vegetarian and/or gluten-free options are available for each meal. No nuts of any kind are available at any meal. Please note specific allergies on your medical forms. We will do our absolute best to accommodate within reason, but if there are significant dietary restrictions, you are encouraged to bring you own approved meals and snacks. A special freezer and refrigerator is available to store approved meals and also available for student use.
