The CAS Brass Choir offers the opportunity for any high school brass player to develop their skill and tone in this 8-week program. Directed by Baldwin Wallace University Brass Professor Dr. Ken Heinlein, the Brass Choir will rehearse on Sunday afternoons from October 16, 2022 to December 11, 2022. There will be a recital on the final day.

CAS Brass Choir is open to trumpet, french horn, trombone, and tuba players in high school.  Students can either send an audition video or be recommended by their band director.

Fall 2022 Schedule

Fall 2022 Rehearsals: Sunday October 16th through Sunday December 11th, 90-minute rehearsal block (time TBA). Boesel Musical Arts Center, 49 Seminary Street, Baldwin Wallace University, Berea, OH.
Fall 2022 Recital: December 11th, time TBA

*plus $25 annual registration fee

Application and Placement Recordings

To join the program, students must complete an online application which includes either a placement video or contact information for their current band director for a recommendation. Fall 2022 applications are due Saturday, October 1.

There are no repertoire or length requirements for placement videos. However, the video should accurately showcase the student's current level of playing. Placement videos must be uploaded to YouTube. You may choose to make your video "public" or "unlisted." (Private videos cannot be viewed.) Once uploaded, provide the link to your audition video within the application. If you choose to create two videos (one for each audition piece), provide both links within the application. DVD and CD audition videos mailed to our office will NOT be accepted.
