Students may enroll in private lessons to receive one-on-one instruction and coaching from a Community Arts School faculty member. Lessons are offered at many times during the week with most of them occurring in the weekday afternoons, weekday evenings and weekends. Students typically enroll in lessons that meet once a week for a half-hour for the full semester. The Community Arts School offers a rolling admission where students may enroll at any time during the semester.
Private lessons allow each student to develop independently through the careful guidance and mentorship of expert, credentialed faculty.
Fall Semester: 15 weeks and begins in late August
The first five (5) weeks of the fall semester will be taught in a virtual format. We will assess the possibility of in-person private lessons at the end of those five weeks.
Spring Semester: 18 weeks and begins in January
Summer Semester: The number of lessons are flexible throughout the summer months from June until mid-August. The student and faculty decide what is best for their study and their schedule.
*Please review our COVID-19 FAQ page for more information about private lessons during the 2020-2021 academic year.
Rolling admission allows for students to begin at any time during the year.
Lesson rates vary per instructor and are based on 30-, 45- and 60-minute lessons. Billing is done on a per-semester basis and pro-rated for lessons started within the semester.
