The Community Arts School Petite Company

The BW CAS Petite Company is a comprehensive dance program for young dancers looking to explore different dance genres and begin the journey of taking their dance to the next level. With a focus on FUN and exploration, dancers will experience a package of programming that allows them to encounter all dance has to offer. Participants can expect small class settings, personalized encouragement, and focused instruction.

Petite Company works as a team building lifelong friendships in a non-competitive environment that celebrates each child’s uniqueness and accomplishments. Exploration of multiple dance styles allows students to fall in love with the art of dance and see where their dance journey can take them. With the support of an exemplary faculty, petite company dancers receive love and encouragement while building a foundation of technique, positive self-expression, and healthy habits.

The Petite Company curriculum is specifically designed to be well rounded and comprehensive. Our dancers explore the variety there is in dance. Emphasis is placed on foundational technique and proper terminology to prepare dancers for wherever their dance future may take them.

Petite Company dancers discover positive self expression, enhanced motor skills, strength, and flexibility. Our focus on fun allows dancers to learn and grow in a safe space while discovering who they are as an artist.

We train dancers on and beyond the dance floor. Petite Company dancers will fall in love with the process of learning dance. Dancers are taught time management skills, confidence, and goal setting in addition to their dance skills.

Expert faculty guide the Petite Company students using their own blend of professional, yet relatable, experiences. Petite Company faculty focus on the dancer as a whole artist and place emphasis on the mindset, confidence, work ethic, and joy of each individual dancer. Each individual dancer is loved, celebrated, and supported for who they are.

The Petite Company schedule will include weekly classes in the following genres:

As part of the Petite Company, each student will receive three (2) two-hour meetings with a dance faculty adviser to help set goals, construct a personalized training plan and address any questions or concerns regarding growth and goals.

Team bonding events designed to build relationships and friendships within the company will be scheduled throughout the season. Specific effort is made for the Petite Company to create a team-oriented culture and we have a lot of fun along the way!

Petite Company dancers will have a minimum of (3) performance opportunities during the season. These performance opportunities are an exciting way for our dancers to show off how fabulous they are and all of what they are working on during the season!

Petite Company performances also allow our petite dancers to bond with our Dance Company students. This “sibling” style bond allows our petite members to have role models to look up to, friends they can count on, and a way to see where dance can take them as they grow!

Any student, age 6 -10, looking to explore the joy of dance in a safe and supportive environment is encouraged to join Petite Company. This program is designed to be accessible for young dancers no matter what their current dance level is. Each dancer will receive individualized attention to promote growth at a level appropriate for them.

Petite Company dancers train as a team and take their core classes together. This comradery allows our dancers to have consistent friends and support on their dance journey.

*Please note that ALL performance rehearsal times will be in addition to these scheduled class times.

CAS Petite Company dancers will be eligible to participate in a travel opportunity during the 2023/2024 season. Participation in this travel events is highly encouraged, but not mandatory.

CONVENTION: Dance conventions are a wonderful way for dancers to experience multiple instructors, dance genres, and other dancers in one action-packed fun weekend. Petite dancers will be invited to attend two conventions (within reasonable driving distance of CAS). The conventions and dates of these conventions will be announced prior to the beginning of the season.

*Please note that all travel opportunities and fees associated with travel are in addition to the Petite Company season tuition.

Petite Company tuition for the 2023/2024 season is $1,650.00.

*Tuition can be paid in full up front or can be paid on a variety of customizable payment plans. There is no additional cost for a payment plan.

*All CAS students pay an annual registration fee of $25.00.

*All CAS dance students pay an annual recital fee of $95.00.

The BW Community Arts School remains committed to providing families with the opportunity to apply for and receive financial aid. Financial aid applications will be available in late summer. Financial aid awards have no effect on a student’s eligibility for Petite Company.
